Amberly Hui Hood is an Atlanta based artist creating work that explores color, memory, playfulness, and culture. In her contemporary rubber pieces, she creates work using a fun bright color palette while calling on her Korean heritage and the traditional Korean quilt-making of “pojagi”.
She received her BFA in Painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2017 and has most recently exhibited her work at Athens Institute for Contemporary Art, Swan Coach House, Marietta Cobb Museum of Art, and Westobou Gallery. Amberly was awarded the Asian Cultural Empowerment Grant in 2023.
Amberly is the founder of Studio 23 Atlanta. While owning and operating the studio for nearly 7 years, she developed the Neurodevelopmental Art Program designed for youth and adults with disabilities.
Amberly was one of five persons selected for Georgia’s PBS program “Georgia Neighbors”.
